This is a yellow Eucalyptus youngiana or Wing Fruited Mallee. If you are in Adelaide you can see them in the Mallee garden outside the Botanical Gardens on Dequetteville Terrace. They plant three in a 1.5m circle of earth to create an ornamental display. The gum nuts before the flowers are fist sized and make a great big burst of a flower. I find them endlessly fascinating. These colour tones are a bit of a departure for me but I enjoyed the mellow warmth of them.
